LS Electric Việt Nam is proud to be the pioneer in introducing the Energy Storage System (BESS) utilizing Li-ion battery technology into Vietnam through collaboration with Power Engineering Consulting Company 2 (PECC2) for the Innovation Hub-PECC2 building project in Ho Chi Minh City.

Producing and utilizing green, renewable energy (RE) is a global imperative trend, and Vietnam is no exception to this trend with nearly 18GW of solar and wind power plants put into operation, leading to overload of the 500kV transmission lines. This has forced RE projects to reduce their output during peak hours by up to 70% of the project capacity, causing significant losses in investment efficiency and instability in the national power grid.

The solution to these issues is to install a BESS system, operating through the mechanism of charging during off-peak hours and discharging during peak hours:

    • Utilizing surplus energy from RE sources to maximize investment efficiency.
    • Helping stabilize the power grid.
    • Saving electricity bills for consumers (charging during off-peak hours, discharging during peak hours).
    • Frequency regulation.
    • Energy saving in the startup of power turbine generators…
    • Application in Micro-grid models for offshore islands.
